Well paddy, you forgot to exclude the important qualifier that the other parent would be given custody only if they pay their lawyers ridiculous amounts of money to educate unqualified and mostly biased judges to make a decision they have no business making.

Its a little unclear in the article, but it seems like the supreme court decisions were upholding the visitation of the non biological "partner".
